The Sinotology logo is based on the Chinese character for "fortune" (福) upside down with a splatter. Signs with the word fortune are hung upside down at homes and businesses (especially during the Chinese New Year) because the word for upside down sounds the same as the word for here, or arrived. Thus, fortune has arrived. Get it? Cool huh?
